Dear Corporations:
These last two months should have put you on notice. The American public has had enough. Your weakness in the face of woke culture is showing, and it will reflect in your bottom line.
It really started with the Bud Light “transgender for a year” can. The beer consumed mostly by blue-collar men, to which it had been marketed for years, decided to go a different route. According to one of the campaign designers, the “frat boy” advertising needed to end. Now, Anheuser-Busch is scrambling for a way to get back to its customers good graces. It may recover eventually, but the path is long and slow.
Target, who may have started the corporate support for the Transgender movement with its policy of any sex in either bathroom, has really stirred the pot with its LGBTQ+&ݜ%∞¥Ǝ▲ʫ҉ (or whatever the hell they use now) promotion to children. Target recently released a clothing line promoting gender dysphoria by selling girls swimsuits that had a space to allow boys to tuck their penises. They also had “pride” shirts for toddlers and babies. If that wasn’t bad enough, some of the trans clothing line was designed by a popular satanist. Yes, that Satan.
Possibly too confident from its defense of the bathroom policy, Target now faces backlash from the right for selling the gear initially, and now from the left for pulling that gear. While the blowback from the left may take the headlines and social media posts, Target’s bottom line is actually suffering more from the boycott of not just Christians and conservatives, but mostly people who think we should not be sexualizing or exposing kids to these movements.
Drag queens reading stories and having drag shows in front of impressionable children is what probably started this backlash. Perversions and sex do not belong in front of kids. Gay parents are no big deal today, but some mentally confused dude wearing a backless gown and heels, with both a beard and boobs, needs to stay away from children.
You should have seen it back when Chic-Fil-A was accused of being “anti-gay” and a boycott was announced. Did the company suffer? Absolutely not. In fact, their sales skyrocketed in a show of customer support. Were these people all “anti-gay”? NO! They just wanted good chicken and opposed the first national attempt at cancel culture. Now, things may be changing down at their corporate HQ in Georgia.
Chic-Fil-A is walking a very treacherous path with the addition on a Vice-President of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. For a corporation founded on Christian values, they seem to be headed down a path which will separate them from their customer base. No one loves that more than the same people who hate Chic-Fil-A for its values…the very people they are now trying to please.
It seems Corporate America and the media do not understand Americans at all. We are not hateful. We do not care about a person’s skin color. We care about how you act. We do not care if someone is gay. Who you love is up to you. We also do not care if people want to play transgender, but we do not want children exposed and confused by it. We will not be forced to pretend along with you. A man competing against women in competition is truly anti-woman. (Hello?!?! Has anyone seen the feminists?!?!)
What corporations are finding out is that there are a lot more “regular people” than you think. The biased media may support you and social media may be split between activists from different camps, but these are NOT the real world. The media and social media accounts are not your primary customers. As I have stated many times in past articles, the 80/10/10 rule applies. For every issue, 10% strongly support it, 10% strongly oppose it, and 80% are indifferent UNLESS it impacts, insults, or targets them or their beliefs. The “80%” is basically middle America (Red state people). Many have had enough “woke” and will take their cash elsewhere.
Corporate America, your duty is to your stockholders and investors, not woke culture. Your decisions should be based on the bottom line, not these social issue land mines. However, like a land mine, it is surrounded by a lot of solid ground on which to stand. Just watch your step and you will be safe. If you do trigger the “boycott mine”, it is going to take a lot of coordination and luck to survive. More than likely, you will not escape unscathed.
We, the People, DO NOT need you. You, however, CANNOT survive without us.
