What has become of the UNITED States of America? Political beliefs of individuals used to vary and were not dictated by a political party. Our focus and passion were for the betterment of our country, improving our own lives and on making a better future for our children. However, now we are solely divided by left and right, conservative and liberal, Republican and Democrat. The sides became focused on their beliefs, and they dug in, disregarding the impact of whether any political ideal made our country better or worse. Merely winning your race or debate became paramount.
These contests became the focus of the media, who blatantly chose sides. The Democrats became the party that ran the learning institutions in the 1960’s. They still do. Schools at all levels, unquestionably controlled by teachers’ unions, pushed the left’s ideology. Members of the press were more than not, preached to by leftist professors during their college days. As decades went by, those press members became the editors and bosses at media companies. The mainstream media became wholly owned by one side of the discussion.
Americans saw this and became less and less adherent to party lines. From 2008-2014, the fastest growing political party was “Independent”. People did not want to confine themselves to any one group. Citizens wanted out of the meaningless fights, and wanted to think for themselves, focused on what would make our country better and their children’s futures more promising.
Out of necessity, a new movement was born. As the parties became rivals for the sake of rivalry, many of the people in those opposing groups felt disenfranchised. There were Democrats who opposed abortion and Republicans who supported it, Conservatives who were okay with less spending on defense and liberals who understood that strength of the military was important, and leftists who opposed to open borders with some on the right who believed any and all should be welcome into our country. We still have some that never made the switch to the new party-MAGA-for fear of isolating themselves or going against the established belief metrics.
Donald Trump recognized that America would fail (or fall) with this divisiveness. His history has shown that he was open to working with all sides previously. He donated to both parties, knowing that to succeed in business, you had to “play ball” or “grease the wheels”. Doing so helped enable him to become a success and an icon. His creation of the “Make America Great Again” movement demonstrated his understanding of needing to unite like-minded people, from any side, who merely wanted to refocus on ensuring the future strength, prosperity and continued freedom in our Republic.
The true diversity of the new party shows itself in some of President Trumps cabinet selections. Tulsi Gabbard was a Democratic congresswoman with a military background. Robert Kennedy is an environmentalist from one of the nation’s most iconic Democrat families and previously fought (and won) against many corporations who polluted our land and poisoned our children. Trump has also drawn political support from other life-long Republican opponents, including Senator John Fetterman and Former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich.
MAGA has become the enemy of many politicians and talking heads. If Trump supports or takes action on any topic or problem, it is opposed by many leaders and those automatons who toe the party line. It begs one to question, if you are truly against “Making America Great Again”, does that mean you want America to get worse? And who is TRULY leading this opposition? Logically, it would dictate that is an enemy of America. China? Globalism? Or is it just inspired by hatred of a man who gave up a life of luxury, and lost millions, simply for the love of his country?
